ICT Key Skills
The QCA Scheme of work for ICT is of its time and the demands of the curriculum mean that although the QCA units provide a useful basis for teaching some of the skills and knowledge that today’s pupils require, it is not sufficient to deliver all aspects required for true ICT capability to be embedded. Therefore, the next part of the framework looks at the key skills that need to be delivered as part of the core NC themes for ICT and how this can be linked to the frameworks for literacy, numeracy and to other subjects in order to extend and develop the pupil’s ICT entitlement. Below are a series of documents that look at the Key ICT Skills associated with wordprocessing, keyboard skills, presentation skills, web literacy, sound and graphics from Foundation to Upper Key Stage 2.
